Among its many attractions, Bath is a millenary paradise of thermal springs, and has been a tourist destination for over ten thousand years. \u00a0 Bath has three springs which have been regarded for centuries for their medicinal properties.\u00a0 It has been inhabited since the Bronze Age (3,000 B.C. &#8211; 1,200 B.C.), but has been the scene of major historical milestones, especially the construction of its thermal baths by the Romans around the 5th century, as well as the construction of a temple, both of which have been duly preserved. It&#8217;s about two hours from London, a destination where you can explore landscapes considered a World Heritage Site, with a choice of museums, galleries and 16th century buildings, with great landmarks of architecture, called Georgian, with houses and palaces in a unique style, there are several attractions, among them: Roman Baths, Bath Spa, Pulteney Bridge and Pulteney Weir, The Circus, Royal Crescent, Queen Square, Bath Abbey and the Jane Austen Center.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4><strong>Destinations worth the trip<\/strong><\/h4><div><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div><p>The Roman Baths are perhaps Bath&#8217;s main attraction. The underground complex of hot springs has not been suitable for bathing since the 1970s, but there is a museum on site with history and relics from the period. The site remains preserved, from its pools to its steam rooms. However, it is possible to bathe in the new spaces that have been built, taking advantage of the hot springs, pools and saunas.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Another postcard is the Pulteney Bridge, built in the Palladian style of Italian architecture and one of only four of its kind in the world. It crosses the River Avon and is a shopping route. \u00a0 Built in the 18th century, it connects Bath with nearby Bathwick. It is not original, but has undergone changes, such as the construction of a canal to prevent flooding. Queen Square is also another destination. It&#8217;s a collection of Georgian-style buildings, squares, public and private buildings, such as The Circus (inspired by the Stonehenge monument), which forms a perfect circle around a garden, and the Royal Crescent, a building built in the shape of an ellipse, designed by architects such as John Wood and The Elder.<br \/>Also noteworthy is Bath Abbey, from the 7th century, rebuilt in the 16th century in the English Gothic style. All the elements of the building are amazing, including the staircase and monuments.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h4><strong>Film Scripts and Literary Classics<\/strong><\/h4><div><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div><p>Bath was more than just the scene of great historical events, it was also the setting for films, such as the movie remake of Victor Hugo&#8217;s classic Los Miserables. The city was also home to Jane Austen. A center is dedicated to one of England&#8217;s most famous writers, the Jane Austen Centre. It&#8217;s a popular route for many tourists, with the author of Reason and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, among others, many of these books influenced by her life in Bath. The house where she lived in the city is open to visitors, where there is an exhibition with objects and history of the artist. It&#8217;s a place with countless options, including free tours.
